A note from the Media Specialist!

Dear parents,

I am in need of old newspapers for a big paper mache project (or, if you are French papier-mache ) for a school-wide event. I am happy to collect yours in lieu of you putting out on the curb for recycling. Please send them in with your students and they can drop them off in the library. Thank you in advance for your help!

Is your child getting enough sleep?

Sleep is a CRUCIAL factor in education. It is required for the mind and body to recover and repair from the previous day. It is also the time when we process and organize information that we learned during the day. Take a look at this chart and consider whether your child's bedtime needs to be adjusted based on his/her age and amount of recommended hours of sleep. Don't ever take for granted the power of having basic needs (like sleep) fulfilled in a child's life.

Girl Powered Fall 2018 was a GREAT success! Check out some of our favorite pics!

Speaking of GIRL POWERED...

Registration for the spring Girl Powered workshop is now open. We're excited to host author, illustrator, and robot-enthusiast Shanda McCloskey! Girls will learn from the Doll-E 1.0 author and illustrator as she shares about robots, writing, art, and more! Girls will then have the opportunity to create and hack their own dolls with circuits and coding. Shanda McCloskey will also sign copies of her book during the workshop. Use this link to register:
