Sugar Fermentation in Yeast
Noah G.
SET UP
We had a small test tube with some yeast in it. We also had a beaker full of hot water alongside with a Gas Pressure sensor with a cork so we could put it on the tube and measure the gas released
Obsevervations: the yeast started to release gas andd the the graph slowly went up
Graph
These were the sugars we tested
Gas Pressure Sensor
Used to tell how much gas was released from the yeast
Sucrose
One of the sugars we tested
CONCLUSION
All but one of the sugars worked with the yeast
The sugars worked with the yeast but 1 sugar didn't and it was lactose
In conclusion:
3 out of the 4 sugars in the commbined into and let out CO2 and all needed warm water to do it
