Mrs. Hildebrand's 4th Grade Class
September 9 - September 13
Spelling & Vocabulary
Our class will have Spelling Word & Vocabulary Word activites and assessments beginning this week.
Students will be assigned Spelling Word activites each night for homework. They can choose one activity each night from their "Spelling Menu" to complete in their Language Arts spiral. One of the items on their Spelling Menu is to utilize Spelling City, a wonderful site that allows students to practice their spelling words in fun and engaging ways. Students can find their spelling list by going to Spelling City, clicking on "Find a List" and typing in "Sandra Rodriguez". They can then select the correct unit, week, and color that we are working on. Please sign their Language Arts spiral on nights that they use Spelling City as their Spelling Menu choice. Students will be assessed on their spelling words on Fridays.
Students will be completing Vocabulary Word activies in class but are encouraged to use their focus words outside of school, both in conversations and in their Writer's Notebooks. They can also get extra practice at home by using Quizlet, another great site that allows students to be interactive with their focus words. They can find this week's words at http://quizlet.com/_f96q6. We will also have "Vocabulary Detectives" throughout the week asking adults on campus for sentences using our vocabulary words. We will vote on the best mentor sentences on Fridays!
Please let me know if you have any questions or trouble accessing these great resources.
