UGA Engineering Lecture Series: Thirimachos Bourlai

Coverdell Auditorium
Thirimachos Bourlai, a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at West Virginia University, will speak Feb. 9 as part of the UGA Engineering Lecture Series. His presentation, which is free and open to the public, begins at noon in the auditorium of the Paul D. Coverdell Center.

Career Center Events
Whether you are mid-job hunt and consulting is your dream job, or you simply want to find out what consultants actually do for a living - we welcome you to join us for our Careers in Consulting Panel and Networking night on Tuesday, February 13 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. This event will take place in the Stelling Study in Moore-Rooker Hall, where you will get to hear from and network with representatives from the following consulting companies:

The panel will offer first-hand perspectives from a wide range of consulting professionals - ranging from a Senior Manager to a new hire/current UGA student, who will share his current experience with the "backpack to briefcase" transition! Undergraduate students are invited to participate in the inaugural Experiential Learning Fair to be held in the Tate Center Grand Hall on Feb. 14, 11am-3pm. Co-sponsored by the Office of Experiential Learning, Career Center, and Student Government Association, the event will feature several units and programs from across campus that offer approved courses and non-credit EL activities. Free pizza and refreshments will be served for the first students through the door. There is no required dress code.

Managing Multiple Offers
Date: February 15, 2018

Join the UGA Career Center and a recruiter from a Career Center employer partner to hear more about managing multiple offers. As you navigate the job search process and make good impressions on employers, you may find yourself in the difficult situation of receiving multiple job offers, and having to decide which is better for you.
This is an ideal workshop for you if you have not yet accepted a job offer.

This workshop is open to freshmen and sophomore students exploring majors at UGA. If you are an undecided sfusent. Must pre register on Handshake. In this workshop, you will learn:
• Online resources that help you navigate the exploration process
• Your areas of interest and how they connect to majors
• Misperceptions of majors and careers
• How to create an action plan to move forward
