Is this FAT?

Many times, people think it is “OK” to skip meals here and there. Maybe if they don't eat, they'll lose a little weight. WRONG! Technically, you may lose weight but not in a healthy manner and it will be much harder to keep the weight off because the foods that you do eat will start to be conserved as FAT. It's so important to eat smaller meals and snacks regularly (every 2 hours) then to hold off for one big meal or skip a meal all together. Starving yourself or skipping meals is training your body to conserve nutrients improperly. So, I challenge each of you this week to prepare a schedule of when and what you'll be eating and stick to it. You will eventually train your body to use what you consume more efficiently!

Recipe of the Month

POWER PANCAKES
Not your typically sweet pancakes but part of this adventure is retraining your taste buds to realize that they don't need all that sweetness to determine if something is really good! And these are GOOD and GOOD for you! Once you add some fruit on top it brings back a little natural sweetness anyway!

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup rolled oats
2 bananas, mashed
4 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
1 cup of almond milk (or add until reaching your preferred consistency)
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp honey

Dash of salt


Mash bananas and mix all ingredients in a medium bowl. Cook over medium heat until golden brown on both sides. Top with your favorite fruit. ENJOY!!!
