Chatta Club 20
Tongue Twisters
ACTIVITY 20: Tongue Twisters
Today's Activity: Tongue Twisters
The activities today are about Tongue Twisters (words which have been put together so it can be tricky to say them)
Here are some ideas:
1: Tongue Twisters
Practice saying these tongue twisters.
- If a dog chews shoes, whose shoes does he choose.
- Fresh fried fish, fish fresh fried, fried fish fresh, fish fried fresh.
- She sells seashells by the seashore. The shells she sells are seashells I’m sure
- 'A big black bug bit a big black dog on his big black nose.'
Choose pictures and record your tongue twisters in Chatta.
2: Make up your own tongue twisters:
Can you make up a tongue twister about.....
A spoon?
A cup?
A drink?
A biscuit?
Or anything you like. Try to include as many similar sounds as you can.
Use both recording buttons on each picture to practice.
You could make as many tongue twisters you like with Chatta. If you want to turn any of them into a piece of writing or a poem - go for it ( but you don't have to!)
Activity for younger children:
Learn a new nursery rhyme
Teach your child a new nursery rhyme, for example "One, two buckle my shoe." Find images that match the rhyme and add them to a chatta board.
