Smore Summary
A project based on Life Skills - Business
It really isn't terrible...
Overall, the class is simple and very easy to get a very high grade in. Simply by paying attention, staying on task, and doing the work assigned, the class is nearly impossible to get below a "B" in.
How does this class relate to real life skills?
Life Skills, to me, is the most useful class given to Freshmen. Teens are beginning to enter the real world, and we need the knowledge of how to be successful in it. Skills such as writing a check for example, is in today's world, a necessity. To be able to transfer funds to others cannot always be done with cash. Without this class, it is likely many students would not know this key information.
Three Topics
Checks
During the span of this class, we have been taught the parts and how to use a check. Several parts we went over are labeled in the image.
Credit Score
A credit score is a rating of how well a person is at managing their "credit". If bills are payed on time frequently, then the person will have a high credit score. It may go up to 850.
Needs vs. Wants
There is a very distinctive line between a need and a want. Needs are essential to life, while wants simply make it "better" for the person.
What else could we learn?
Computer Skills
Although this is a separate class, many students will never take the opportunity to get a better understanding of computers. Many students struggle with basic computer functions such as navigating files, creating documents, and sharing files with other students.
Most Valuable
The most valuable aspect of this class would be basic banking information. Without basic banking knowledge, it would be incredibly difficult to manage money.
