Principal's Message
What a week we have ahead of us! It is a short week for our students with lots of professional development opportunities for our staff. The professional development plans are shared right below this calendar. Agenda’s and needed items for the PDs will be sent to staff before Wednesday. Please remember that on Tuesday, we will have our 1st Quarter Senator Strong Assembly. Read below what has been shared with families about this event. We will follow the modified schedule as we did at the start of the year when we did the PBIS Kick Off. All students and staff will attend the assembly on Tuesday. Please teach expectations for assembly behaviors on Monday and Tuesday during 1st period. Provide a reminder of expectations before students enter the cafeteria on Tuesday.
As the Assembly proceeds it is the collective responsibility of all staff to be hands on and address behaviors seen or help with student behavior. Let’s make RMS an excellent climate for students, staff and our entire community. I am so proud of the team we have and all of the great work we are doing! We are building a culture of reflection towards action and we as a professional staff are taking the necessary feedback given during walk-throughs to position our school for excellence! Let’s reach for the stars and teach our students about persevering despite obstacles placed in our paths. Have a great week!
Dear RMS Parents,
You are receiving this letter because your child has earned high honors for the 1st quarter or is being celebrated for going above and beyond to demonstrate Robinson Middle School Senator STRONG Expectations. This year, our award assembly and End of the Quarter School-wide Celebration will look different from last year. We currently have approximately 200 students who will be honored at the celebration. Due to the large number of students to be celebrated, we will not call each individual student to come and receive a certificate. We will strategically seat them by grade levels and have them stand when we share the honors earned. Each grade level will have two students especially honored for going above and beyond. Students earning this distinctive honor will receive a certificate at the assembly along with a prize. This school-wide assembly will take place on October 29, 2019 from 2:40pm-3:50pm. There will be entertainment from staff as well as our school cheerleading squad.
On November 5, 2019, we will have an Honor’s Breakfast for students earning high academic awards as well as Senator STRONG awards. The breakfast will be held in our school cafeteria from 9:30am-10:00am. PTO will provide donuts and juice. This will be an opportunity to congratulate the students, hear words of encouragement for the great work done, mingle with peers and take pictures at the photo-booth station created by the Art Department. Parents are welcome to come to attend this event.
Again, congratulations to your child and thank you for entrusting Robinson Middle School Team with your most precious asset, your child.
Sincerely,
Ms. Appiah-McNulty & RMS Team
