The Weekly Update #21
January 13th 2023: Weekly Update 21
Mrs. Danzy's News and Notes
Greetings INOVA families!
Are you familiar with the saying "mind over matter"? It implies that the mind is a powerful thing and with the right state of mind, you can do almost anything. As we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., I want to remind you that your thoughts hold power. They hold the power to boost you forward or hold you back. Be aware of the thoughts you hold about what you are capable of accomplishing. Your success will begin and end with your thoughts. Growth and achievement are all in your mind...be aware of negative thinking and shut it down before it shuts you down! Every action starts with an initial thought. What actions will your thoughts produce?
Peace and Blessings,
PACE (Pathways Accelerating Career Experiences) High School is a face-to-face campus that will be the flagship for what is possible in student academic achievement. It will be rooted in skills mastery, project based learning, and social emotional growth. PACE graduates will carry with them marketable and college-ready skill sets, including a bilingual literacy certificate.

Happy Friday the 13th INOVA Student Body & staff,
Words of Wisdom- "You have to be satisfied by how hard you try, it doesn't matter more what other people think."-Darla Pridgeon
Hope you all are doing marvelous, a few things to point out include the following:
1.Edmentum courses are not fully launched but Live Sessions are. You receive more notices about your scheduling when it comes to this or if you have sent communications and haven't received more detail, please be advised by this but also be sure to check your emails.
2.We will be looking to ramp up the new year with more opportunities for every student apart of the INOVA community, if you haven't already, please lend your input to the surveys.
3.Continue to advocate for your needs and express your wants if you have reasoning that you stand by and believe in.
4. As we continue to transition to the CLASS app platform, please communicate with your individual teachers in the form of email or in the TEAMS live session courses going on if you haven't already.
5.Additionally, when reaching out to your teachers by email you can CC' me in your email sent to them. Alternatively, if you need support with performing these tasks you may reach out to me by email but also our attendance clerk @ email@example.com.
Tip of the week- Master your ABILITIES
- 4 Skills Based off your ABILITY to master them, that WILL PAY YOU FOREVER.
1.Master your ABILITY to Read, Comprehend and Advocate by asking questions and by doing your own research when you find yourself curious or even uninspired the best thing you can do is self-educate yourself. For example, if you have any interest in becoming a Lawyer but lack exposure to what that looks like but maybe your ABILITY to perform under pressure in heated debates in classroom discussions or whenever you have the ability to state your case fascinates you. Look no further than some of the resources that you use today such as YouTube, Google but don't stop there.
2.Adjust your ABILITY to be Intentional about the intended signals that you send off when communicating. Productive communication is less about trying to change someone's mind, and more about understanding their perspective.
3.Practice your ABILITY to THINK Before You SPEAK and Determine if your Response is Worthy. Sometimes we exert energy that didn't have to be spent, learn how to Stand Tall by your beliefs and find ways where you can Promote your ideas for solutions that make the world a better place for you + others.
4. Commit to demonstrating your ABILITY to Walk away from the things that DO NOT bring you success or happiness.
Fun Fact of the week:
There is a 50% chance that in a group of 23 people, two will share the same birthday. In a group of 367 people, it is a 100% chance. But only 70 people are required for a 99.9% chance.
