Principal's Prose
Greetings Team,
Welcome back to another great week at Sudie! Despite the fact that the summer heat seems to have its heels deeply planted in the daily forecast, technically fall has arrived. With the State Fair opening this Friday (awesome), football games consuming weekend schedules and the first "six" weeks (actually five) almost in the books, the calendar remains relentless and unapologetic in it's commitment to move us forward.
Whether we anticipate it or debate it, our readiness rests at the center of attention during times of change. To be all we can be as a team, we must remain committed to all we can do for students and each other. Though the winds of change are certainly in motion, they will find Sudie deeply rooted in the belief that WE ARE ONE! This week, commit yourself to a proactive approach in reaching out to assist and support someone in need. Remember, our best isn't our best without a test, so let's seize this time of transition as our own. We have the power to do so!
Be intentional about making this a week to remember, and another amazing week with students!
Sincerely,
MJ

Setting the BAR for Testing!
This week is a big week for our students. It's time for them to show what they have learned this first six weeks.
In order for our students to put their best foot forward:
1. Please ensure that our special populations receive the proper accomodations documented in their IAPs or IEPs. In Reading, you may NOT read the passages, only questions and answer choices.
2. Talk to your students about the importance of doing their best. They should be expected to show their work and return to the text to find and prove their answers. It is imperative that we SET THE EXPECTATION for how we want our students' work to look and hold them accountable even if it hurts. Push yourself this year to NOT let students submit work that does NOT meet the criteria shared or co-created with them.
Happy Testing!
