This webinar series will discuss data-based decision making as part of your Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework. Best practices on collecting and analyzing data will be highlighted along with practical recommendations for teams to implement in order to get more out of the data that they collect. Types of data that will be discussed include universal screening data for behavior, office discipline referrals, suspensions/expulsions, restraints, attendance, PBIS surveys, and fidelity data. The series will close out with a session on ensuring equity through data-based decision making.
Intended Audience: Targeted PBIS team members (administrators, data analysts, coaches, note takers)

Session 1: Data-Based Decision Making
This session will discuss the defining characteristics of data-based decision making. Outcome and fidelity data examples will be shared along with information on how to best use your Student Information System to create reports that will be useful in decision-making.

Session 2: Team-Initiated Problem Solving
Team-Initiated Problem Solving (TIPS) is a process for running meetings focused on data-based decision making to improve student outcomes. PBIS teams and team leaders will be guided through the process of creating precise problem statements and how to link those to action planning. The TIPS protocol and form will be explained in detail, so attendees can leave the session ready to implement with their PBIS teams. PBIS team roles and responsibilities, such as data analyst and note taker, will also be discussed.

Do you want to become SWIFT @ SWIS? This session will allow PBIS team leaders, especially data analysts, to learn the basic features of the School-Wide Information System (SWIS) such as how to enter referrals, use the dashboard reports, and the drill-down feature. This session will also discuss how to use additional reports including ethnicity, suspensions/expulsions, and the triangle report.

Session 4: Ensuring Equity through Data-Based Decision Making
Do you want to ensure that your PBIS team is looking at data with an equity mindset? Participants will learn how to collect, use, and report disaggregated discipline data. Resources and tools to assist teams with making equity focused decisions about data will be shared.
