Health Notice
Notice from the health office at Valentine Hills Elementary
February 18, 2019
Parents of Valentine Hills fifth-graders:
We have been notified of some cases of Influenza developing shortly after return from attending the Laurentian Environmental Center last week. The main symptoms of Influenza include: rapid onset of fever, headache, cough, body aches, or sore throat.
Please see the attached public health fact sheet for further information.
If your child develops these symptoms, you may want to contact your primary health care provider for advice, especially if the individual has a chronic health condition, such as asthma.
If your child does have Influenza, please follow these health department guidelines for returning to school:
"Keep your child home from childcare and school until 24 hours after fever is gone (without the use of a fever reducing medicine) and your child is healthy enough for routine activities."
We also ask that you notify the school health office if your child develops symptoms of Influenza.
Thank you,
