Happy Spring Break....almost! We have had a great week but we are all looking forward to some rest and relaxation. My family will be headed skiing for the week and I have heard from all of the students that they will be traveling, too. I hope you all enjoy time making memories with your families.

On a different note, our 6th grade band performed during our Creek Life assembly on Monday. They were incredible. We look forward to showcasing the amazing talent of our students at upcoming assemblies.

Remember, today is the last day to order the student council shirt. There will be lots of opportunities to wear the shirt with our "crocs and socks" in the spring.

Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).

Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences.

Sloan Creek Families,

In order to eliminate any type of accident with the construction crew’s machinery, we have moved our student walkers’ route. Please note that each group will be walked by a staff member. They will be wearing a high visibility vest with a handheld STOP sign. Please pay attention to our walkers and staff to ensure all make it home safely. A map is located below for review.
