Message from the Principal
Dear Whittier Parents/Guardians,
Students and staff are gearing up to finish strong in this last quarter of the school year! Please continue to encourage your child to do their very best and work hard in school. Teaching students to persevere, even through difficult times, proves to be effective in future success. The importance of education and academics leads to a bright future. After Spring Break we have high stakes testing for our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Please be sure to have a routine in place for reading 20 minutes nightly.
As a school, please remember, our attendance is closely monitored by the Wisconsin of Department of Public Instruction. Being here on time and being present until the end of the day is extremely important. The more students that are here every day the more time for instruction and learning! Increased attendance guarantees improvement achievement!
Thank you for staying connected and engaged! Remind your student to read, read, read! :)

The Women's Center is a local agency that provides services to adults and children who have experienced some sort of violence in the home. They have a new four-week workshop starting next week Tuesday, from 6:00-7:15pm for parents and children aged 8-12 to practice identifying, labeling and expressing emotions. It is based on the fairly recent children's movie, Inside Out. Call 262-547-4600 to register or find out more information. There is no cost for this workshop and child care may be available by appointment. For this and other community resources, please see the Community Resources bulletin board just outside of the office.
