Red Kangaroo


General Statement

The red kangaroo is the largest of all kangaroos, the largest mammal native to Australia and the largest extant marsupial.


The red kangaroo is found across mainland Australia avoiding only the more fertile areas in the northern rainforest and live on grassland.


This species is a very large kangaroo with long pointed ears and a squared off muzzle. The male kangaroos have short red brown fur.

Eating habits

The red kangaroo grazes during the night on a wide variety of grasses and low herbaceous plants though sometimes this grazing period starts late evening and ends early morning.
