The Finish Line
June 13, 2019
Cardinals, we're a mere six days away from the official start of summer break! We tip our caps to all LHS students and staff for another amazing year in the books. We know you're all ready for summer, but remember that it goes by so fast...so soak up that sunshine, get in a few lazy days here and there, and make some fabulous memories!
We look forward to seeing you in September!
* To Our Seniors *
Dear Seniors,
Next week you will officially spread your wings and fly from the Cardinal nest that you've called home for the past four years. Always remember that you have a forever family here at LHS. As we send you off on the next leg of your journey, we want you to do great things, be great people, and make your great big mark on this great big earth! While you are out there changing the world, we want you to remember a few things:
"Do what makes you happy, and spend time with those who make you smile. Life is short, so cherish every moment. Always follow your heart. Have no regrets. Some opportunities only come once, so seize them. Embrace kindness, stand up for justice, ask for help, offer hope, mind your manners, and live well. Try not to care what other people think of you, and don't compare the fortunes of others with yours. Always give 100% in everything you do, and love with all you have. Treat others - and yourself - with respect, always. Stop over analyzing. Surround yourself with things that bring you joy. Take responsibility for your actions and own up to your mistakes, but don't dwell on your mistakes (yours or those of others). Smile at people, laugh a lot, forgive quickly, embrace change, travel often, try new things, and face your fears. Don't be afraid to fail. Decide what you want and GO FOR IT. Never turn down an opportunity to learn. Discover yourself. Life is an adventure...so enjoy the ride!"

2019 Graduation
Graduates must report to the arena by 2:00 p.m. and assemble in the holding area in the back of the arena. Students must dress in appropriate business attire (collared shirt, slacks, dress, etc.) Sneakers, flip-flops, and short are not permitted. Remember to bring your cap, gown, and tassel!
Ladies and gents, please choose your shoes wisely and take into consideration the standing/walking time, as well as the fact that you will be navigating stairs and the stage. Make sure you are comfortable! (Hint: Graduation day might not be the best day to break in those new heels!)

A Nurse in the Making
Each year the Mercer County School Nurses Association offers a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from Mercer County who is planning to pursue a career as a Registered Professional Nurse (R.N.)
This year, for the first time EVER, one of our own seniors has been selected to be the recipient of this award! Congratulations to De’Asia Jones, who will begin her nursing studies in the fall at Caldwell University! De'Asia was nominated by our LHS nurses.
