Welcome Back to NBHS!!!
Leading Lifelong Learners
Principal Letter
Welcome back to an exciting 2018-2019 school year at New Bloomfield High School. The staff is thrilled that you have entrusted your student’s education to us. We will make every effort to help your child achieve academically and socially this year. It is our goal to create an enriched learning environment that engages each student. New Bloomfield High School has an excellent teaching staff with a wealth of knowledge. We also have outstanding support staff who work in different capacities to support your student’s learning.
As you know August is always a very busy month for students and faculty at New Bloomfield High School. It is a very important month, and I cannot emphasize enough the need for our students to start their year out focused on doing their very best. Sports and other activities are well underway. The lives of our students will become increasingly busy. With this in mind please take the time to point out the importance of attendance, grades, good behavior, and staying well rested. The more they are here and alert the greater chances for success they will have. I would like to take the time to share a few thoughts/tips that you can use to help your student this school year.
Ways to Help Your Child:
1) Share a positive attitude-Encourage a love of learning.
2) Setup a place to study-a place that is quiet and free from distractions.
3) Help your child organize-being neat is a positive thing.
4) Encourage-listening, compromising, respecting, cooperation, and apologizing skills.
5) Discourage bullying-encourage them to share out with adults.
6) Peer Pressure-talk about the harmful effects of it and how it’s okay to be different.
7) Encourage your student to get involved.
8) Stay connected with your child: Monitor their homework and speak with teachers if necessary.
9) Hold your student accountable for both positive and negative behaviors.
10) Get involved with the school.
One way to get involved is to volunteer your time to help tutor students, chaperone field trips, make copies for our teachers, or work in any of our after school activities. If you would like to help out in these areas, please let us know via email or phone.
Finally, if your child needs additional support or if you have a concern, please do not hesitate to contact his/her teachers or administrative office. It is our mission to support your child in whatever way we can at NBHS. We believe in community not only within the walls of our building but across our community as well. Working together makes a difference in the lives of our students.
AS A PARENT/GUARDIAN YOU TRULY ARE THE DIFFERENCE MAKERS IN THE LIVES OF YOUR STUDENTS!!!

Kayla Algiere: 7th and 8th Grade Math Teacher
Hello! My name is Kayla Algiere and I am excited to be the new 7th and 8th grade math teacher this year! I graduated from Mizzou in 2012 with certification in Middle School and High School Math. After graduation I taught math at Wellsville-Middletown R-1 for six years. My husband and I decided to move our family to the Fulton area this summer and I’m very excited for this next stage in my life!
I love teaching for the many opportunities I strive to make a lasting positive impact on my students, as well as for the many impacts they have made on my life thus far. I enjoy helping students make discoveries, no matter how big or small, and I strive to make my class enjoyable and challenging at the same time. Aside from teaching, I can be happily found reading a book, being with my family, going on walks, watching the Cardinals game, and taking way too many pictures. I’m looking forward to a great year!
Megan Klukowski: HS ELA Teacher
My name is Mrs. Megan Klukowski, I was born and raised in West Michigan. I was always an avid reader and writer when I wasn’t playing sports, particularly basketball. After graduating from Rockford High School, I went on to attend Western Michigan University where I earned a BA in Secondary Education, with my major being English and minor being Communications. I began working in a small school district in Mid-Michigan. During my second year of teaching, I decided to go back to school to pursue my master’s degree. Two years later, while continuing to work full-time, coach freshmen girls’ basketball, and write my thesis, I earned a MA in English with Emphasis on Teaching from Western Michigan University. While completing my master's, I co-published an article in the Language Arts Journal of Michigan titled "#Occupy Literature! Lasting Lessons of the Occupy Movement".
After six years of teaching in Michigan, I met my husband, who had just accepted a position at William Woods University in Fulton, MO. Eventually, I found a teaching position in Missouri at a local private school and was able to move to Missouri. In my three years of teaching here, I have taken on many roles: JV Boys Basketball Coach, Club Sponsor, Class Advisor, the English Department Chair, Committee Chair, and the Assistant Director of Curriculum. Inevitably, while teaching private education, I began to miss the sense of community that is formed in a public-school district.
In 2016, I coached a JV basketball game at New Bloomfield and found in this school district that positive learning environment and community feeling I had been missing. Ever since that day, I had been looking for any employment opportunities in New Bloomfield while pursuing my Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction and my Doctorate in Education in hopes this would better my chances of joining your team. I truly am excited about this opportunity to work for and with the students and their families in New Bloomfield High School!
Zach Moore: MS and HS PE Teacher
My name is Zach Moore; I was born and raised in Ashland Missouri, I attended the Southern Boone school district from K-12. During my time at Southern Boone I was a sports enthusiast, I played baseball all 4 years of high school and played football in middle school. I have also been involved with the summer baseball team and youth programs over the last few years. After high school I chose to attend Lincoln University in Jefferson City to pursue a degree in education while also playing baseball.
This is my first year teaching and I am very excited to be apart of this great school district. I know many alumni and former teachers from New Bloomfield and they have nothing but great things to say. I wanted to be a teacher because I really enjoy helping others better themselves. When I was young I would spend a lot of time at my grandmothers school when she taught and I think the environment and atmosphere of the school setting has been with me ever since. I have also had many teachers in my life influence me in very positive ways and I would like to make a positive impact on as many people as I can.

NBHS would like to invite high school students and parent/guardians to a parent night to learn about the new "Suspicionless Drug Testing Program” for students that are involved in a district-sponsored organization or club activities, MSHSAA recognized sports/extracurricular activities, and that park on school property. The parent night will be held on August 14, 2018 at 6:30-7:30 p.m. On this night parent/guardians will learn how the program works, what the process will look like, and other important information pertaining to the program. We are excited for this new program and we look forward to the support that you provide as we strive to keep NBHS a drug free environment and provide a healthy and safe school for students to learn and participate in.
