A MESSAGE FROM MRS. DAVIS
As the principal of Lago Vista Intermediate, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great year. We are all excited to have our students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. It is our mission to make every child feel welcome, connected, and a part of the LV Intermediate Family. Additionally, we strive to challenge each student to grow his or her academic abilities and be ready for a dynamic future. We have great teachers who spend hours planning and creating classroom activities to engage our students in learning. Our teachers utilize research-based best practices and analyze academic data to determine current skill levels and to set goals for growth and improvement.
We hope that you will find our website helpful and informative. All of the information we send out via email can also be found on this site. Our weekly newsletters are emailed on Fridays and also posted on the Lago Vista Intermediate Facebook page.
I am honored to serve as the principal of Lago Vista Intermediate School. It is truly a privilege to be part of this community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. Please feel free to contact me at (512)267-8300 extension 3501 or stacie_davis@lagovista.txed.net.

However, if your student's mode of transportation is changing, i.e. from car to bus or bus to car, our staff needs to be made aware of that change.
Transportation Changes:
Please submit all transportation changes to Lisa Dohm, in the front office, by 2:00 p.m. the day of the change:
Email: Lisa_dohm@lagovista.txed.net
Phone: 512-267-8300 ex. 3500
***Please note*** Transportation changes for early release days need to be submitted no later than 9:00 a.m. on the day of the change.
Attendance Reminder:
If your child is out of school for any reason, please be sure to inform the front office the reason for the absence. For your convenience, Mrs. Dohm as 2 electronic ways to get her notes:

HELPING CHILDREN DEVELOP A GROWTH MINDSET
The staff at LV Intermediate use strategies around Growth Mindset to foster developing growth mindset in each of our students. As we unleash students' potential through creative lessons, empowering messages and innovative teaching, we hope to give you information to help your student at home.
How can you help your child at home?
1. Be a growth mindset role model
2. Praise the process, not the result
3. Teach your kids about the brain
4. Encourage your kids to take the hard route
5. Stretch your kids capability
The Power of 'Yet'
This doesn't work...yet
I don't know...yet
It doesn't make sense...yet
I don't get it...yet
I'm not good at this...yet

Attendance
One of the easiest things parents can do to help students be successful is make sure students are in school on time everyday. Our school day begins at 7:45. Please help your student be ready for the day by reminding your child to lay clothes and backpacks out the night before. This will help mornings to be positive and less stressful. Set an alarm to help students get up with plenty of time to eat a healthy breakfast and be prepared for the day. Making attendance a priority helps your child understand the importance of their education. We are so excited to work with your family and your children to help them be successful.
FANTASTIC FIRST WEEK
We have had a great first week. We appreciate you entrusting your children to us. We have gotten to know and love them. We have been learning Campus-Wide Expectations that are centered around respect, responsibility, and safety. We are learning classroom procedures and have started setting goals for the year. It's going to be a great one!
