Welcome to the Prairie Point Panther Press!
Principal's Letter
Dear Parents:
It is hard to believe that we are three-quarters of the way through the school year. I continue to enjoy all of the traditions and spirit that defines the Prairie Point community. The third quarter held many exciting events here at Prairie Point. I was blown away with the talent and courage that our students showed during the Variety Show last month. This was followed by a fantastic performance by our 3rd graders in the musical, Grammar Rocks. I am looking forward to the awesome events that take place during the 4th quarter.
As I heard many, many times when I started working here - Prairie Point is an amazing community with AWESOME teachers! I feel lucky to have landed here and look forward to the last quarter!
As we are entering the fourth quarter, there is one thing that I would like to bring to your attention. If you haven’t already, you will soon be receiving an email from your child’s teacher inviting you to log into Mastery Connect. Mastery Connect is a system that keeps track of student understanding of the New Illinois Learning Standards. Parents are able to access the Parent Portal of Mastery Connect to view their child's progress towards mastery of the learning standards. We have provided informational videos on the district website that can be accessed using the following link: http://www.sd308.org/Page/19843. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher.
I hope that you have a wonderful and safe spring break. If you are traveling - safe travels! If you are staying local – I hope to see you around!
Happy Spring!
