CMAS Testing Dates
The Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessment is coming up! This assessment is given to all 3rd through 11th graders in the state of Colorado. CMAS measures the achievement and growth surrounding the Colorado Academic Standards. We utilize the results to identify trends in student learning in order to inform our professional practices. This year, our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be taking the Mathematics and English Language Arts assessments on April 5th, 6th, and 7th. Our 8th graders will be taking the Science Assessment on April 12th and 13th.
Cell Phone Policy
Parents, we need your help. Cell phone disruptions and distractions are interfering with classroom instruction and student performance. Parents, please be mindful of the below cell phone policy. If you need to contact your child during the school day, please contact the front office at 970-686-8200.
Cell phones are not to be used by students inside the school during school hours from 8:35 am to 3:55 pm without teacher permission. The school offices are open from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday to receive phone calls. Students may use the office phone when necessary. Messages will be delivered to students as needed. As such, please assist us by NOT messaging or directly contacting your student during the day. Violation of this policy will result in a cell phone discipline plan for the student.
First Offense: Students must get their phone from the office at the end of the school day.
Second Offense: Parents will be required to retrieve the phone from the office. It will NOT be released to the student without the parent present.
Third Offense: Parents must come get the phone and the student will be placed on a Cell Phone Discipline Plan, which will require the student to check their phone in to the office at the start of the day, and pick it up at the end of the day.
