When is Priority Registration ???

Do you know when your priority registration appointment begins? Well head on over to your UAccess page. On the right hand side under 'Enrollment Dates' and 'Enrollment Appointment' you will see when your priority registration session will begin.

Please note that each session will open up at 6AM.

As of March 1st, you have access to the Summer '16 and Fall '16 class schedule and are able to use your 'shopping cart' to plan out your class schedule.

Summer enrollment opens for EVERYONE on Monday, March 21st at 6AM

Note: During priority registration, appointments will be limited to 15 minutes and walk-ins will be brief. Please come prepared with your questions and concerns. If you have a quick question, please don't hesitate to send us an email.

If you are wanting to take a nutrition course with restrictions, please fill out the wait lists for the requested courses (links below). At the end of each priority registration week, we will add students and send notification if you have been added.

no prerequisites, for nutrition majors only

prerequisite- NSC 101/NSC 170C1

NSC 308- Nutrition & Metabolism (Offered Fall & Spring)
prerequisites- NSC101/NSC170C1, Chem 152, MCB 181R

NSC 310- Principles of Human Nutrition in Health & Disease (Offered Fall & Summer)
Completion of NSC 101/NSC 170C1 Highly recommended that Nutrition Flex Option wait for NSC 410

NSC 351R- Fundamentals of Food Science (Offered Fall & Summer)
prerequisites- NSC 101/NSC 170C1, Chem 152

NSC 351L- Food Studies Laboratory (Offered Summer, Fall & Spring)
prerequisite/concurrent enrollment in NSC 351R; for Dietetics option

NSC 395A- Experiential Learning in Nutritional Sciences (Offered Fall & Spring)
prerequisite - NSC 101; not a required class, can be used toward the flexible nutrition option.

NSC 396B - Scientific Literacy (Offered Fall & Spring)

prerequisite - Junior or senior nutrition student. Not a required class, can be used toward the flexible nutrition option.

NSC 408- Nutritional Biology (Offered Fall Only)
prerequisites-nutrition major, Chem 241B, PSIO 202 or 380, NSC 308. Prerequisite or concurrent enrollment in BIOC 384 or BIOC 385.
Will you be a senior in Fall 2016? You should be enrolling in this course.

NSC 425- Medical Nutrition Therapy I (Offered Fall Only)
prerequisites- Open to dietetics option. PSIO 202, NSC 325, completion or concurrent enrollment in BIOC 384 or 385.

NSC 458- Food Service Organization and Management (Offered Fall Only)
prerequisites- Dietetics option only. NSC 358R and NSC 358L.

NSC 445 - Body Compositions (Fall Only, Online 7-week 2nd session)

prerequisites - NSC 101 and PSIO 202

This course is not required. It is a fully online course and can be used toward the flexible nutrition option.

NSC 475- Nutrigenomics for the Study of Disease Prevention & Intervention (Fall Only, Online 7-week 2nd session)

This course is not required. It is a fully online course and can be used toward the flexible nutrition option.

NSC 495A - Dietetic Internship Prep Workshop (Fall Only)

For dietetic seniors planning to apply to a dietetic internship with a GPA of 3.0 or greater. If you have a GPA lower than 3.0 you made need to wait until Spring 16 grades are posted. Please email Mary Marian at mmarian@email.arizona.edu to discuss department consent.

Are there any scholarships?

Yes! The CALS Scholarship Application is Open until April 1st at 5pm- Decisions will be made over the summer and money will be awarded for the 2016 - 2017 academic year.
