Calendar Change - Monday, November 7 is NOW a 1 PM Dismissal Day for students

Dear Families,

In order to make up for the change in schedule caused by inclement weather, Monday, Nov. 7, will now be a half day for students. We apologize for the inconvenience to families; however, this adjustment provides teachers the time required to finalize grades. As a reminder, half days of school do not impact the overall school calendar.

Because Monday, November 7th is NOW a 1 PM Dismissal Day for Students, Pre-Kindergarten 3 year old students do not attend school on Monday, November 7th..

Make-up Picture Day is Thursday, November 10th.

Pre-kindergarten 3 year old students will have their Individual Picture Day this Thursday, November 10th.

Make-up Picture Day is Thursday, November 10th.

Thursday, November 10th, will be picture retake/absentee day. Any students who were not in attendance for the first picture day, or would like their pictures retaken, will need to go to this link to sign up for pictures https://strawbridge.fotomerchanthv.com/clients/ridgely-elementary-school/fall-retake-pictures-11-10-2022-67/optIn per Strawbridge Studios, "This link will allow parents to sign up to receive updates via email regarding their child's school portraits. These updates include promotions, additional deals, and the ability to order more pictures at a later time. When entering student information, parents should be sure to enter the student's name as it is on file at the school." This date will also be picture day for our 3-year-old Pre-K students.

Choptank Community Health - School Based Health Center

We would like to remind you of our school-based health center open right here at RES!

In partnership with Choptank Community Health System, we have high quality, convenient healthcare, and dental services in our school.

If your child starts to feel sick at school and with parent permission, the school nurse can refer them to the school based health center. A Choptank Health provider will conduct an exam, run diagnostics, and even call in a prescription if necessary – all in the school setting.

Records will be shared with your child’s pediatrician, and if ongoing care is required, this will also be coordinated with the pediatrician.

Choptank’s dental services include screenings, cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments, and emergency visits. With care once again coordinated with your child’s primary dentist. The Choptank dental team will be at RES later this year- sign up today using the link below!

During the school year, we practice multiple safety drills such as fire drills, lockdown drills, and severe weather drills.

Dismissal Changes for Students

It is important that parents call before 3 PM to request changes for dismissal. This allows sufficient time the office staff to communicate changes to the teachers and students. Last minute calls are very stressful during dismissal. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Parent and Doctor Notes

When a student is absent from school, it is required that parents provide a note stating the reason for the absence. If the student has been to the doctor's or dentist's office, please provide the doctor's/dentist note. Without a parent's note or doctor's note, the student's absence is considered unlawful. Notes must be provided within 10 days of the absence.
