Prepare Your Child for School
Research the potential elementary school by visiting and meeting with the principals and teachers without your child. Make a second visit to the school with your child to aid in the transition.

Attend Open House

Review the basics of what the child has learned in the previous grade like counting, reading and simple math operations. Start this a couple weeks before the first day of school.
Practice saying goodbye to your child and develop a farewell routine.
Provide toys that promote imagination.
