A Message from Your Principal, Mrs. Katie Johnson
Our primary goal at Center Cass is to create a safe and inclusive environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As we all have seen, the world at times is not a safe or inclusive environment, which can lead to feelings of confusion, fear, and sadness in our students.
If your student exhibits or communicates fear, confusion, sadness, or other concerning feelings, please know that you can contact us and we are here to support them. Our Social Workers and School Psychologists are available to support students and families who may be impacted by current events.
We also understand that discussing such events can be challenging for you as the parent, thus we wanted to share additional resources that may help families with these conversations at home.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. Together, we can continue to provide a nurturing and inclusive educational experience for our students.

Elizabeth Ide's fall parent-teacher conferences will be held on Tuesday, November 7th and Thursday, November 9th. Each conference will last approximately 15 minutes. To ensure that we can accommodate everyone's schedules, we kindly request that you sign up for a time slot that works best for you.
To sign up for a conference time, please CLICK HERE. This list includes ALL Elizabeth Ide Fall Conference Sign-Up. Simply click on the link for your child's teacher, Encore and/or English Language Teacher (if applicable) and follow the instructions provided. The online sign-up system allows you to select your preferred time slot from the available options. If you have any questions/concerns about scheduling, please reach out to your child's teacher.
We believe that open communication between parents and teachers is crucial for your child's success. Your insights and perspectives are invaluable in helping us create a supportive and enriching learning environment. We encourage you to come prepared with any questions or topics you would like to discuss during the conference.
Please note that if you are unable to attend the scheduled parent-teacher conferences, alternative arrangements can be made. Kindly contact your child's teacher directly to discuss alternative options.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education. We look forward to meeting with you and discussing your child's progress. Together, we can ensure their success.
Fun-Filled October 31st Parade and Parties
COSTUMES: K-2 students may wear a costume or fall themed outfit to school on October 31st. Please note the following: Costumes may not depict any form of violence or gore that may scare other children. Toy weapons or weapon look-alikes are not allowed at school. Masks can be worn during the parade, but must not impede the student’s vision.
PARADE: We are thrilled to invite our families and community to our school-wide parade. Weather permitting, the parade will be outside starting at 8:20am. Families and community members may line-up anywhere along the route (see image below), but please leave sidewalks clear for our students. While families and community members are encouraged to walk, if able, we are also working on possible options for overflow parking. Details will be communicated prior to the event. A revised plan will be communicated if weather does not permit.
CLASSROOM PARTIES: K-2 classroom parties will be hosted by PTO room parents from 9:15-10:15am. There will not be any food provided to students to consume during the party.
Veterans Day
Veterans Day is a special day to honor and thank the brave men and women who have served in the United States Military. We are committed to teaching our students about the importance of Veterans Day and the sacrifices that veterans, and their families, have made for our country.
Do you know a Veteran in your family or our community? If so, your child is encouraged to print out THIS FORM and return it to their classroom teacher or the main office by Friday, November 3rd. If you would like us to send a hard copy of this form home with your child, please email our Administrative Assistant, Stephanie Sorn. Please be sure to include all information on the form and a picture of the Veteran.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt invitation to Veterans to join us for a special event in honor of Veterans Day. On November 10th, we will be hosting a light breakfast followed by a Veterans Day assembly at our school. This event is our way of expressing our gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
The morning will begin with a light breakfast in our lounge at 8:00 am. It will be a brief opportunity for Veterans to connect with fellow Veterans and students. Following the breakfast, we will gather in the school gym at 8:15am for a meaningful Veterans Day assembly. We would be honored to have Veterans join us for this special occasion. Please RSVP by November 3rd, so we can make the necessary arrangements.
We look forward honoring and welcoming our Veterans to Elizabeth Ide Elementary School.
