October Chickasaw Chatter

A Note from Mrs. Nichols
I love this time of year! The temperatures are a little cooler, football games are being played, and pumpkins are everywhere! It's hard to believe we are approaching the end of the first nine weeks.
All students participated in the iReady Benchmark Assessment during this quarter. These reports will be coming home on October 15th with report cards. Unfortunately, due to social distancing guidelines, we will not be having an Honor's Program as we have in years past. Instead, teachers will recognize those students receiving awards in the classrooms. Students will still receive certificates of recognition for their awards. The areas students can be recognized are: Principal's List-all A's, Honor Roll-all A's and B's, Perfect Attendance, Most Improved, and Citizenship.
There are several events going on this month. October is National Bullying Prevention Month. At CES, we will be focusing on "Choosing to be KIND!" Mrs. Dix has some awesome things planned! Also, see below for specific days we will show that Chickasaw Champions are bully free! OBHS homecoming is this month, too. Specific dress up days have not been determined. We will be sharing those as soon as they are determined. I saved the best for last! On Friday, October 30th, all staff and students are invited to dress as their favorite book characters. We will share about what book our character is part of. I can't wait to see those costumes!
Let's make the 2nd Nine Weeks even better than the first!

It is hard to believe we are at the point in the 1st nine weeks that we are making decisions regarding the 2nd nine weeks. Students may change the method they receive instruction at the end of each nine weeks. Students can go from VIP (Virtual Instruction Program) to traditional or from traditional to VIP. If you would like to change the method your child receives instruction, please visit the following link and indicate the change you would like to make:
This link will be available until October 2nd, 2020. Any changes made will go into effect on Tuesday, October 13th.
