February Guidance
Guidance on Habit 5 will take place the week of February 16-19, 2016.
HABIT FIVE: Seek First to Understand, then to be Understood.
Listen Before You Talk.
I listen to other people's ides and feelings. I try to see things from their viewpoints. I listen to others without interrupting. I am confident in voicing my ideas. I look people in the eyes when talking.
Guidance on College and Career Readiness will take place February 22 and 23rd, as well as February 29, 2016.
Please check your email for information on when to sign up for you class lesson.
ABRI Data
2014-2015: 52
2013-2014: 46
2012-2013: 47
2011-2012: 76
The location experiencing the greatest decline is on the bus. Five years ago, a total of 52 referrals were earned on the bus ( accounting for 49% of all referrals). This year, students have earned 12 referrals on the bus (or 41% of all referrals)
We currently have 4 students who have earned more than 1 referral. One student is already in EBD services at MES. Another is in the referral process. The other two students are working hard to improve their behavior and at this time are not receiving any additional support. neither has earned a referral in several weeks (or months).
During our January meeting, the ABRI team met to review the fidelity of our program and how well we are implementing PBIS at Maryville. Once these results are finalized, they will be shared with all staff.
Kentucky School Counselor Conference
There are lots of great sessions this year, including the Leader in Me, bus and cafeteria behavior, and IMPACT counseling. Hopefully, after three days at the conference, I will have a lot of great ideas and resources to share with every one.
Upcoming BIG Events
College and Career Readiness Week will take place February 29-March 4, 2016. More information will be coming out about this event, but it will include speakers, assignments and projects. It should be a lot of fun.
