Calm Your Child's Coronavirus Fears

In times like these, it may be hard to explain to your children what is actually happening right now. If you are not talking to them about it, they will hear about it from those who are misinformed. If you need ideas on how to talk to your child and clam their fears about Coronavirus use this brochure for some guidance.

Coronavirus Questions

CCPS has established a designated email address specifically for questions related to the mandated school closure. Please send these questions to CORONAVIRUSQUESTIONS@CCPS.ORG and we will get back to you!

At Home Connection

The video below will help show you how to access student work online. This resource is to help students keep their learning up to date over this extended school closure. Students will not be graded/held accountable for this work; we simply want students to remain engaged in the educational process. Click here to get to the website.

Our Media Specialist has put up Google Classroom "fun extra" assignments for grades 2-5 in her Media Google Classroom. Here is how to access those assignments: On district-issued Chromebooks - the students log in and the Google Classroom icon should be at the top of the toolbar.

For students using parent devices, go to the link below.

Select “Go to Classroom.” Students will need to log in with their CCPS log in credentials. All the classrooms that the student is a part of will show up.

Library Media: I’ve posted several “fun” assignments for students to do over this furlow! With these “assignments,” students may comment to me privately, and I can help them with whatever issues they may encounter with tech or assignments.

Bounce Pages App for Elementary Math Activities

Using a cutting-edge technology called augmented reality, Pearson’s BouncePages app launches engaging, interactive video animations that bring textbook pages to life. Use your mobile device to snap a picture of the pre-tagged Pearson page, and an animation illustrating the page’s concept launches immediately. No slow websites or hard-to-remember logins required. And, in addition to these dynamic animations, many of the pages also include hands-on practice opportunities for students to directly apply what they just learned. The app is available for all Smartphones.

Preventing the Spread of Germs

Please remind your children to wash their hands before/after using the bathroom, before eating lunch, after blowing their nose, and after coughing/sneezing into their hands. The nurse has been getting a lot of kids with fevers this week, and we are trying to prevent the spread of germs. Remind them to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds (sing happy birthday), and have them wet hands first, then use soap, then rinse. Thank you!
