- Read 15-20 minutes a night. This can be a combination of independent reading, reading to a sibling, pet or stuffy, or listening to an older sibling or adult read aloud to them.
- Encourage writing at home. All writing is great practice. Need some ideas of what to write?? Shopping list, a new recipe, make believe stories, informational (how to or teaching about something) writing, comics, graphic novels, journals, diaries, letters, emails or texts. Please do not fix all spelling and mistakes or that will discourage writing. More tips on how to make some fixes without ruining the love to write to come.
