April 2021
4th Marking Period and State Testing
Principal's Corner: Mr. Schultz
For switching modes of learning (virtual to in-person or in-person to virtual) after April 26th, there is a form that needs to be completed in the office. The minimum amount of time required is 2 weeks. Students are not allowed to switch back and forth within the two week period. The only exception is if you need to quarantine and it is less than 2 weeks. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the MMS office: 364-6336.
Just a reminder that breakfasts and lunches are free until the end of the school year. Grab and go breakfasts are available before school (7:45-8:00)- encourage your child to grab one. Lunches are available at lunchtime and there are bag lunches available to students on 1/2 day Wednesdays at 11:10 dismissal.
The PSAT will be administered on Tuesday, April 27th, for all 8th graders who show up in person. Please look below in the "State Testing" section for important information regarding the PSAT and M-Step.
Student of the Month
State Standardized Testing: PSAT and MSTEP
The PSAT 8/9 will be administered on Tuesday, April 27th, here at MMS. We openly invite all 8th grade students who want to take the PSAT 8/9 to attend in person promptly at 8:00 AM on the 27th. If you are virtual and do not feel safe, or you do not want your 8th grader to take the PSAT 8/9, have them zoom their 1st hour teacher from home for attendance purposes and keep them home on April 27th. Information on the PSAT 8/9 will be sent out to all 8th grade parents and students.
The M-Step is electronically taken and has testing windows. A separate communication will go out with when M-Step tests will be administered. Again, all virtual students are invited in to school to take the M-Step. M-Step dates are currently scheduled in May.

Assistant Principal's Corner: Mr. Frikken
Masks: As students return back face to face we want to remind everyone that masks are to be worn at all times throughout the day. If a student refuses to wear a mask, he/she will be sent home and may return when able to follow the school district's mask protocol. There is a virtual option for students who can not follow MMS mask protocols.
Dress Code: With warmer weather just around the corner we would like to remind students and parents of the MMS dress code. Mid-drift shirts and/or shirts that expose the belly are not permitted. Students are able to wear shorts and skirts as long as they are at least fingertip length. Shirts must have a 3 inch width over the shoulder (no spaghetti strap shirts). Any student inappropriately dressed will be expected to change his/her clothing.
