Student Spotlight: Performing Arts
If you see senior Grace Edney this week, give her a big congratulations! She just became the first Liberty student to ever be selected to sing in the Missouri All-State Choir! (We’ve had two alternates in the past but never an official selection.) She underwent a rigorous audition process, and yesterday the results were announced that out of hundreds of altos who auditioned, she will be one of four to represent the St. Louis Suburban area at the Missouri Music Educators Conference at Tan-Tar-A in January. Grace is an amazing student who has certainly earned this honor.
--------
On Monday, November 6, 12 of our Liberty Band Students traveled to Ladue High School to audition for the St. Louis Suburban Music Educators All-District Concert Band and All-District Jazz Band. We're excited to announce that Elizabeth Bowen (Clarinet) and Payton Grotewiel (French Horn) were named to the St. Louis Suburban Music Educators All-Suburban Concert Band! They will be rehearsing with the band and performing in a concert on January 7th. Additionally, both are now eligible to audition for the All-State Concert Band on Saturday, December 2. Congratulations, and good luck!

Fall Play
Our fall play is finally here! Our Town will be presented Thursday-Saturday at 7 p.m. This is a BEAUTIFUL play about finding the beauty in everyday life. It is also considered by many theatre critics to be the "greatest American play ever written." It is safe for the entire family, but it does talk about death - it covers the whole circle of life. Everyday life, love and marriage, and death.
And now.... we need your support! We've put in countless hours of work and rehearsal, and now it's time to perform for an audience. Our students have created our set, programmed and designed lighting and sound, hand crafted props and decorations, etc. etc. They are so proud of the beautiful production they've created. If you've never attended a show at Liberty before, this is a great one to start with! Come see it!

Booster Club Needs YOU
The concession stands are the Booster Club's largest fundraisers. The funds earned from concession sales are used to help support the Liberty High School athletic programs, clubs and activities. In order for this to be possible, we need volunteers to help out covering the shifts. We are in serious need of volunteers. If your student participates in any school extracurriculars, we ask that you and/or your student sign up for at least two shifts, or more if you like, per year, per activity. If everyone chips in a little, we can accomplish great things.
