Kids Heart Challenge Kick Off
Coach Matt Albers was presented with a medal for his 16 years of participation as a Heart Challenge Leader. Our teachers helped present some ways to stay healthy in a fun and silly way. Thank you to Leann Higgins for speaking on behalf of her son, Jase, and sharing their story.
There will be packets going home with students today containing information regarding this event. See the below information from the American Heart Association for more detail.

We have begun Kids Heart Challenge (formerly known as Jump Rope for Heart)!
Your Child is learning heart healthy exercises and lessons on how to achieve a hearthealthy lifestyle. They also have the chance to feel great about helping kids with special hearts and learn about doing good deeds!
Please Register your Child and take one of the Heart Health Challenges with your Family - Click here Join the Kids Heart Challenge at Blair Oaks Elementary then click on Sign Up. This will start a habit in your family for a healthier lifestyle. When You and your Child register and choose a Family Heart Health Challenge your Child receives a glow in the dark wristband (no donation necessary).
This year during Kids Heart Challenge we are also recognizing positive behavior. When the Echo Club leader sees a student is doing a good deed or act of kindness at school that student will receive an Echo Club Certificate and Echo Club character.
If you help your child raise donations, they receive thank you gifts. For example, if your child raises $10 online, they receive Echo, Finn, the backpack clasp plus the Heart Hero Wristband (mentioned above. For an extra special family reward this year – if your child raises $250 - your family is invited to attend a Movie Night on KC Chiefs Arrowhead field and participate in the fun activities for the evening.
The Wristband, Ruby Sticker, Finn Water Tattoo and all of the Heart HeroesCOME TO LIFE! Watch this video with your Child to see how they come to life and so you can meet the Heart Heroes - learn their lessons and see why we are doing Kids Heart Challenge! Click here: Welcome to Kids Heart Challenge
In addition to online, you can also raise donations with your Child through PayPal, by check (you can scan your checks with the app), cash or through a Matching Gift Program through your Employer – www.matchinggifts.com/aha.
Thank you for taking the Family Heart Health Challenge and helping others! Every single dollar you raise will help kids and families build healthier lives. I'm so proud of our school community for making such a big difference!
Thank you for being a Blair Oaks Elementary Heart Hero!
3RD QUARTER Service Project
While any non perishable food item is greatly appreciated, the Samaritan Center has especially requested the donation of items such as canned soups, spaghettios, ravioli, etc. - any type of items to "keep you warm".
Please join us in making this a "souper" success! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
