Green Meadows Newsletter
March 30- April 3, 2020
Greetings From Ms. Moberg
I know that you are getting a lot of communication so I will keep mine brief. My hope is to share important resources and links in one place. Staff are working and meeting regularly using a video conferencing platform. They are working collaboratively to develop weekly templates for grade level activities for grades PK-5. These are being shared two ways on Mondays, through the HWRSD Academic Engagement Learning Community site and individually by teachers. Our middle school staff will continue to provide weekly assignments through the Portals and the Google Classroom. I have shared the links below for your convenience. I have also shared a quick link to the page developed by our district counselors which offers Social-Emotional Support and Resources. Teachers at different grades are using various platforms to communicate with families. These include ClassDoJo, classroom websites, Google Classroom, Remind app and parent emails. Please know the Green Meadows community miss our students so much. We hope your families stay healthy during this time. As always, please reach out with any questions. I can be reached at smoberg@hwrsd.org. Mr. Villamaino can be reached at avillamaino@hwrsd.org.
Warmly,
Ms. Moberg
We miss our students so we’re coming to SEE YOU!

Social Emotional Support and Resources
Please click on the link below to access the site created for Social Emotional Support and Resources. The counselors at Green Meadows are also in the process of creating their own website. When completed, this will be shared on our school website. Families will need to click on "For Families" and then click on "Teacher Websites" to find the counseling website. This will likely be completed by the end of the week if not sooner. Oh, and don't forget to check out Mr. Baker's website and "The Git Up Fitness" video. It's the best.

Food Resources Available to Families...
Starting on Wednesday March 25, 2020, we implemented a pick-up meal service for students. Pick up will be at Minnechaug Regional High School between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.. on MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS. Monday’s pickup will include 2 lunches and 2 breakfasts and Wednesday’s pick up will include 3 lunches and 3 breakfasts.
To participate in the pick-up meal service, please enter Minnechaug Regional High School from Tinkham Road, take a left and follow the traffic pattern for student pick up/drop off. Pick up will be outside the community entrance in the back of the building (the side with the Superintendent’s Office/Pool - door closest to the track). We will be asking for students’ names so that we have accurate records in case we are eligible for Federal reimbursement in the future. Please remain in your car. You will be asked the names of the students you are picking up meals for and the bags will be placed on a table so you can retrieve them from there without leaving your car. Please follow these guidelines so we can maintain social distancing and keep everyone safe.
Please note that due to the nature of this meal service and product availability, we will not always be able to accommodate allergies, thus parents/guardians must assume responsibility for their children's allergies. We will be using peanut butter products, so if your child needs a substitution, please contact Julie Dougal, Food Service Director, at Julie Dougal, School Nutrition Director
If you or your family need to access free food resources, please help us plan how many to prepare by filling out the following survey: https://forms.gle/TncC3Bihpuk2gYxR7
Devices and Accessibility Available to Families...
Thank you for the feedback you provided in the Green Meadows Technology Survey sent out on March 13th. The District is working to identify and connect with families that have either limited access to the internet, or limited access to appropriate devices. The District is reaching out to specific targeted families first and then inquire of the larger school community.
Charter is offering free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps. To enroll call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households.

Don’t let them get away with this...
