UBMS Weekly Update
April 8, 2016
2015-2016 THEME: "HAVE THE COURAGE TO SUCCEED!"
This Week's "UB Special" Award!
We have decided to dedicate this week's "UB Special" Award to Mr. Matt Heinen. Mr. Heinen was a special person to many of our students. He was a counselor who guided, who listened, who cared, and who will be greatly missed.
The UBMS staff share in the heartache of the tragic loss of Mr. Heinen yesterday. We are keeping his students, his family, friends, coworkers, and others involved in the accident in our thoughts and prayers. We encourage all students to support each other, and other school staff, during this time. As important, please take care of yourselves and do not be afraid to reach out to your UBMS family whenever needed.
May we all remember to take time to tell those who help us along the way how much we appreciate them because we never know what tomorrow will bring.
Rest in Peace Mr. Heinen.
"SMART MONEY" PROGRAM (STUDENT ATTENDANCE REQUIRED) - APRIL 26
We are happy to have a representative from National Exchange Bank come and talk to our students on Tuesday, April 26th in Stayer - 217/218 about the importance of savings. How do you save? Where do you put your money? What is a CD? What's a good interest rate? What is compounding? How can I make my money grow? These questions and more will be answered along with some hands-on activities.
The schedule is as follows:
4:00 - 5:00 Juniors and Seniors
5:00 - 5:30 Social for All - food and drink provided
5:30 - 6:30 Freshmen and Sophomores
Students are required to attend. Please mark your calendars and arrange this with your employer, coach, teachers and/or parents. Students are required to communicate to staff if there is any reason we will not be seeing you on the 26th.
