TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK
MAY 7-11, 2018
Please join the Johnson STEAM Academy PTA by honoring our teachers and staff with these suggested ideas. Or, feel free to come up with your own ways to celebrate our amazing teachers and staff! Families can participate several ways:
* Encourage your children to write their teachers thank you notes for their hard work and dedication.
* Bring a dish for the teacher potluck on Thursday, the 10th. Here is the link for the potluck sign-up genius https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090848afae2da3f58-thursday
* Select a star on the “Tree of Thanks” which will be displayed in the JSA gallery. Each star represents supplies which were selected by teachers to use in their classrooms.
This week will be special for the teachers and staff with everyone’s help. Thank you!!
STEAM Expo
Our third annual STEAM Expo is May 18th. Join the Johnson STEAM Academy community in celebrating how we guide all JSA learners to discover their passions through innovative and rigorous learning experiences. The purpose of the STEAM Expo is to provide students with an opportunity to showcase how authentic, innovative and hands-on approaches to learning are helping them learn and grow.
Mark you calendars: The Family Showcase is May 18th from 1:00-2:00 pm. During this time you will have the opportunity to view the innovative learning experiences we provide for JSA students. Students will share their learning in a classroom of their choice. Like a Discovery Day, student choice and voice were a part of the grouping process.
This year, we are also hosting a Community Showcase May 18th from 9:30-11:30. The purpose of the this event is to provide community members with an opportunity to become empowered to become a part of the JSA community of supporters and advocates.
Please invite community and business members to sign up for the Community Showcase by registering at Eventbrite: http://bit.ly/JSACommunityMembers
