Stakeholders
In the Virtual Classroom
The Instructor
Just like in a brick and mortar classroom, the instructor spends some quality time with the student. The instructor provides instruction, tutoring, grades, answers questions and concerns, and gives feedback to assessments. Always checking for understanding. The stakeholder communicates with all stakeholders regarding the progress and performance of the students.
The Student
Must communicate continuously with the instructor. ASK questions. Maintain appropriate tone, language, and adhere to the school's policy in emails. Participate in the discussion forum by posting thoughtful and meaningful comments. Check grades frequently. Be Proactive. Good Digital Citizenship.
The Parents
Provides the support at home. Guide, assist, and encourage the student throughout the learning process. Plays an Active role between the student and instructor to ensure student's success. Communicate with instructor if student falls behind or is performing low on assessments. Continuous communication via email, phone calls, and newsletters. Most LMS allow Parents to check on grades through their auditor account.
The Facilitator
Stays in the Loop. Check and monitor the student's progress. A facilitator is usually an administrative team leader or counselor at the student's brick and mortar school. Counsels and interacts with the student face to face during the school day. Another method of contact between all stakeholders; especially the parents and instructors.
