- Students must attend school 4/20 until at least 11:30am. They may sign out then WITH A PARENT NOTE.
- ALL PARENT NOTES MUST BE BROUGHT IN BY 8:30am on THURSDAY AM.

Boys Soccer News:
The boys soccer team will be holding open gym time on Monday's and Thursday's from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm in the West Middle gym.
All interested 8th-11th grade boys are invited to participate.
They should bring indoor soccer cleats or tennis shoes and enter through gym door 7.

Job Opening:
Louisville City Saver is hiring! We are looking for a part time seasonal employee to work 25-30 hours per week. It pays an hourly rate and has a mileage allowance.
This person will help us sign up new local businesses for our awesome coupon book and smartphone app. They need to be a SELF STARTER, a good communicator and service oriented.

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WILL HELP YOU AS YOU PLAN FOR SENIOR ACTIVITIES DURING
THE LAST WEEKS OF SCHOOL. PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY.
1. Prom – Friday, April 20th at the Ice House, 226 East Washington Street, Louisville, KY 40202. Tickets are on sale
now and are $45 each. This includes a t-shirt. If you wish to bring a guest, permission forms are available in the main
office. These permission forms MUST be returned by April 13th, NO EXCEPTIONS.
2. Senior Exams – May 18th (periods 5, 7).
May 21st (periods 1, 3, 6).
May 23rd (periods 2, 4).
3. AP Exams – May 7th through May 18th.
4. Senior Clearance Sheet/Transition Survey - Complete clearance sheet and transition survey. These will be given to
you through your English class on May 14th. If you do not have an English class here at MLCHS, they will be
available in the main office. These will be turned in on May 24th after graduation practice. Clearance sheets and
transition surveys MUST be complete to receive cap, gown, and tickets.
5. Senior Awards Night – May 17th at 6:30pm in the Performing Arts Center. Local and institutional scholarships will
be presented at this time, as well as other awards. All seniors and guests are invited to attend.
6. Senior Breakfast – May 24th at 8:30am in the cafeteria. Special thanks to Hardees for making this breakfast possible!
7. Graduation Practice – May 24th 9-11:30am and May 25th 1:00-3:20pm. All seniors must be present at practice in
order to walk in the graduation ceremony.
8. Class Awards Day – May 25th 9-11:00am. At this time, seniors will be given honors, such as Valedictorian,
Salutatorian, Magna, Summa and Cum Laude.
9. Senior Luncheon - May 25th 11:30am-1:00pm in the small gym. Special thanks to Cattleman’s Roadhouse for
making this luncheon possible!
10. Caps/Gowns – These will be distributed May 24th after graduation practice. Remember that both the senior clearance
sheet and the transition survey must be complete in order to pick up your cap and gown. After you receive your
gown, please hang it in the bathroom at home (Dr. Ellison will explain).
Blaze Pizza Now Hiring:
Blaze Pizza is now hiring at all three locations in St. Matthews, Middletown and the Paddock Shops (and soon to be our fourth location in Clarksville, Indiana!) We are also hiring for all positions including team members and shift leaders, part-time or full-time. We offer a starting wage of around $9 and hour (may increase with experience and availability).
Blaze Pizza offers an amazing Events and Job Fair Package that provides anything from on-site interviews & hiring materials, to our exciting 'Wheel of Fire' and Blood Orange Lemonade samples. This provide a fun way to get free coupons to Blaze Pizza and hear about job opportunities as well!

Collins High School is making its mark on the town with a trio of artists working to complete a mural for travelers from around the country to enjoy.
Job:
In need of worker for Simpsonville home. Will be doing yard maintenance, gardening, etc. - no mowing. Dates and times optional. $12.00 an hour. See Mrs. Stivers in the Youth Services Center for more information.
Craft Academy Opportunity:
Craft Academy is excited to bring 4 camps to Morehead State University’s campus this summer! Is your child interested in engineering, space science, the medical field, documentary making or drone building? If so – then The Craft Academy definitely has a camp experience built for them. Cafeteria Charges:
With the end of school year coming up, our CHS Cafeteria is preparing to finalize all student cafeteria accounts. All cafeteria charges must be paid no later than Friday, May 4th. Please make sure your child has no outstanding balance due to the cafeteria. If you have any questions, contact our cafeteria manager, Stephanie Hammond at 647-1160.
Health and Fitness Fun Day
Plan to attend the annual “Health and Fitness Fun Day” at the Clear Creek Park Family Activity Center on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. until noon. A children’s activity section will include lots of active games and prizes. A bike rodeo will be held for youth to teach bike safety.
Over 40 health, fitness and safety booths will provide free giveaways and valuable updates on health and safety issues. This event includes an educational scavenger hunt, tons of community partners showcasing their information for health, social, mental and physical awareness! There will be several bicycle giveaways, prizes, FAC passes and FAC memberships! Everyone will receive valuable information and gain skills for a healthier tomorrow. Rain or shine, thisis a Saturday morning adventure that you, your family and friends will enjoy!
The Running Titans News Update:
North Oldham All Comers (4-10-18)
The Running Titans continued their full frontal assault on the school record book on April 10th in Buckner at the North Oldham All Comers meet. Junior Christian Carrasco got the action started when he cleared 7-0 in the pole vault to establish the school record. He is the first Titan (boy or girl) to have cleared a mark in high school competition. He later broke his own mark by clearing 7-6. Another junior, T. J. Rawlins broke his own school record in the triple jump by 9.25 inches, as he sailed 42-8 for the win.
Junior Nathan Jacobs won the discus by spinning the platter 152-3. This is the third best mark in the state behind Bryan Hudson’s (Scott Co.) 185-5. Jacobs also won the shot with a put of 46-10.25 which was only 4.74 inches short of his school record.
On the girls’ side, senior Hannah Cleary took second in the triple jump with a season best 30-2.5. She also finished fourth in the long jump. Senior Nyla Smith scored with season bests in both the shot (27-0 for 6th) and discus (68-5 for 7th).

2018 Odyssey of the Mind:
Collins High School will be hosting the 2018 Odyssey of the Mind State Competition on Saturday, April 21 from 9am - 5pm. We are in desperate need of judges and volunteers to help out with the competition. This is a big event and its such a great opportunity for our Odyssey of the Mind teams and our school. If you are 16 years of age and would like to help volunteer or if you are a parent and would like to help judge the competition, please contact:

Seniors going to New York that there is a mandatory parent meeting Wednesday May 2nd at 6:15 in the theater.

What is it:
Leadership development program for selected sophomores. This program is partnered with Leadership Shelby.
Benefits: acquaint with future leaders and networking with a member of the community. Field trips every month with segments of the community. Field trips will include the following area in the community: History, Agriculture, Industry, Health & Social services, government, the justice system, education, arts & media, and tourism) each month they will learn about a new segment. And how it contributes to the community, who is in leadership in our community, and how it contributes to the economy.
- There are only 22 spots available. First field trip starts in September.
- There is a scholarship application for the fee to be waived.
- Graduation ceremony at the end of the program.
