#ThomsonRocks Week of: May 19, 2019

Important Information for You!

KRA Training

This week Megan, Mandy, and I will begin training certified staff in the KRA that will be given next fall. On Tuesday, training will be held at the Williams Property South House and on Wednesday, the training will take place in the Middle School Community Room. For those being trained this week, please plan to arrive ready to go at 8:20 a.m. If you are unsure when you are being trained, please check the Google Doc that was sent out or contact me.

Senior Farewell Walk Through

What is quickly becoming a yearly tradition, the Senior Class of 2019 will have a farewell walk through our halls on their last day of school Wednesday, May 22 at 1:15 p.m. As we have done in the past, if you could please put the benches outside your classroom into your room this will allow for more room for both our students and the Seniors. Also, please encourage your students to wear Thomson/Davison spirit wear.

PTO Walk-a-thon

As you are all aware, our PTO Walk-a-thon will be held Thursday, May 23rd at the High School Track. Please be sure to double check the schedule for your classroom's time. A note will be going home to families on Monday in case any parents would like to come walk with their child. As students turn in money, please be sure to turn it into the office. Money should not be kept in the classroom.

5D+ Observations and Final Evaluations

My goal is to finish all four observations tomorrow (my realistic goal is to get as close as possible to finished)! It has been a delight to observe you and your students. If you have a student who needs to finish their NWEA, please do it as soon as the student returns to school. I look forward to reviewing all of the student growth data. Following Intersession, Anna will begin scheduling evaluation meetings. I look forward to meeting with each of you.

Interesession Shut Down...& Lounge Refrigerator: Before you leave on Thursday, please take time to unplug those 'vampire' plugs (lamps, CD players, etc,), make sure your table tops, bookshelves, and desks are cleaned off, and please clean out any personal items from our lounge refrigerator. Jim and Cameron will be working on deep cleaning all classrooms and getting all the access wax build up off the halls and base tile. While Anna, Sue and I will be working in the office various days throughout Intersession, I am asking that you stay out of the building unless absolutely necessary as to make cleaning as easy as possible for Jim and Cameron.

Cardinal Code Focus for the Week: Review Week

This week's Cardinal Code Lesson Focus for the week is a Review Week. Please use this week to review areas that you find need some attention for your classroom. I appreciate the time you will take to intentional reteach and review lessons this week.

Quotes Worth Reading

"Rest & self care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel."

-Eleanor Brown

May the coming Intersession break allow you a little extra time to rest and take care of yourself!

Tuesday-A little kindness goes a long way...go out of your way to be kind to others today and watch the smiles and appreciation that follow.

Wednesday-Davison Spirit Day-Wear your maroon and gold to wish the Senior Class of 2019 a fond farewell.

Thursday-Fuel up for the Walk-a-thon with a little breakfast treat in the lounge. Oh, and feel free to wear your Thomson Staff shirt with athletic bottoms and tennis shoes.
