The Professional Sales Organization is hosting its 1st Annual "Tee Off for Success," a networking luncheon as well as an opportunity to learn how business is conducted on the golf course. No experience required, as the event is best ball and more about meeting employers. Corporate sponsors include Northwestern Mutual, Lincoln Financial, Liberty Mutual, DMI Partners, Team Toyota, and the Camden Riversharks.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters Volunteer Info Session

Are you looking for an easy way to make a difference in the community? Do you have one hour a week to spend with an elementary school student? Maybe being a Big Brother is for you!
Temple University and Big Brothers, Big Sisters are partnering to bring great mentors to children in the North Philadelphia community. Volunteer ‘Bigs’ will meet with their ‘Little’ once a week at the Little’s elementary school which is within walking distance of campus. Bigs and Littles talk, play games, throw a football around, do arts and crafts – whatever is fun for both of you!
Currently, we are looking for 21 male volunteers to sign up as potential Bigs.

Eating Architecture

The environments in which we prepare, produce, and consume our foods both reflect and affect those processes. Eating Architecture (MIT Press, 2006), edited by Paulette Singley and Jamie Horwitz, examines the interplay between food and design through twenty original essays. The Libraries and the Department of Architecture at Tyler School of Art welcome Singley and Horwitz to discuss this innovative text, as well as the newest developments in the design and architectural analysis of eating spaces. Alicia Imperiale, assistant professor of architectural history/theory and design in the Tyler School of Art, will moderate.

Come and enjoy the beautiful autumn-inspired glass creations at the second annual Art Market at Tyler School of Art. Stroll through the patch and select your favorite glass pumpkin; each is one of a kind and is hand-blown by members of Tyler's Glass Guild. There will be live demonstrations of the glass pumpkin-making process in the glass studio on Saturday, as well! A portion of the funds raised by the event will go to The Village of Arts & Humanities.
Good Morning, Beautiful Business: A Talk by Judy Wicks

Join entrepreneur, activist, and author Judy Wicks to discuss community engagement, environmental stewardship, responsible business practices, and her new book, Good Morning, Beautiful Business (Chelsea Green, 2013). A national leader in the local foods movement, Wicks is the founder of the famous West Philadelphia restaurant, the White Dog Café. She also founded two local nonprofit organizations, the Sustainable Business Network of Philadelphia and Fair Food, and founded the nationwide Business Alliance for Local Living Economies.
The talk is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
