Washington students and staff had another exciting week reading and discussing The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. Remember to turn in your trivia slips each Wednesday to be included in the drawings.

PTA Update...
PTA Volunteers NEEDED:
All of our events need man power to continue to happen for our kiddos. We are looking for new families to take the lead on a few of our events and our PTA Board. All events are well oiled machines with the majority of planning steps outlined but allowing for your own personal touch. Please consider grabbing a friend and giving back to your child so that they can continue to enjoy events at the school.

PTA Board Positions for 2019-20 School Year
Treasurer-DO you love numbers. The board is need of a new treasurer. The system is set in place and just needs someone to dedicated a couple hours a month to keep the books up to date, pay reimbursements and other small tasks. Would love to discuss with anyone that may have a slight interest? Can be done majority from the comfort of your own house.
VP Programming. This board position reaches out to book quest speakers, helps set up dine out nights and assists with fundraising. Great position for someone who has a computer and can put a couple hours into sending some emails.

As the month draws to an end and we head into Spring break, please take time to read a book as a family to celebrate the rich inventions, ideas and world-changing contributions that women have made. Also, take some time to talk with your kids about the strong, brave and important women in their lives!

From the Music Department....
The Wauwatosa Music Department is excited to announce that the Elementary Band Festival will be at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, at Wauwatosa West High School. Over 200 fifth grade elementary band students will combine to perform six full concert band pieces as well as pieces which feature each of the individual instrument sections. Band families and members of the community are invited to come and enjoy the show!

Traffic Reminders
Please take note:
- 67th Street is ONE way SOUTHBOUND during drop-off and pick-up. Between 7:00-8:30am and 2:00-3:30pm traffic is only allowed to move southbound.
- Thank you ahead of time for being considerate to our neighbors on 67th and all around our building by NOT blocking driveways nor turning around in driveways. 67th street is extremely busy in the morning and at dismissal so your continued efforts at being patient and follow the posted rules help keep everyone safe.
- There is a handicap parking sign posted on the north end of the cutout on 67th Street. Cars, buses and daycare vans should avoid this area at all times. Thank you for your cooperation.

If you prefer, you can also submit cash or check payments in the school office and we will put them in the meal programs drop box to be added to the account on the same day. Checks should be made payable to Wauwatosa School FSD.
