Quote of the Week
The Weeks in Review
After we finished landforms we began our learning about Earth's weather, and how it shapes the planet we live on and where we can live. We will continue this next week.
In Social Studies we designed flags for the new state of Texas, after Texas was annexed by the United States in 1845. The designs and the meaning behind their flags was a great project! Check some of them out below, and ask your child to share with you their writing they did! They were great!
Since then, we also have transitioned into learning about the Civil War, and will finish learning about that in the next week.

Austin Intramurals
We are really excited to be able to offer basketball for the next three weeks! If you are new to Austin Intramurals, this was a program started in the Fall of 2015 and aims to help kids develop skills by giving them the chance to participate in sports while also providing time to have fun and engage in physical activity.
Our first Intramural day is this coming TUESDAY! 4th Grade boys and girls will be on Tuesdays, while 5th grade boys and girls will participate on Thursdays. The cost will be $5 which helps cover the cost of equipment. Money can be brought to the front office once registered.
Please see the attached PDF or flyer below for more information. You can register at www.tinyurl.com/Basketball2017
