Welcome to Clear Fork Middle School...
Welcome to the Middle School Newsletter! It will provide information about the upcoming year and upcoming school events. If you have any questions, please contact the Middle School Office at 419-886-3111.
A Note From the Principal...
It is hard to believe that summer is coming to an end and that students will be back in the classrooms in just a few short weeks. This year's theme is "Catch Our Spirit: Be A COLT." COLT stands for Compassion, Opportunity, Leadership, and Trust. This will be part of our new Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). You will learn more about PBIS in future newsletters.
We want to make sure that parents, students, teachers, and office staff have excellent communication. Here are several ways to keep in touch with the school:
Sign up for the Middle School Remind Texts on the Clear Fork Web Page.
Sign up for the daily/weekly emails from the teachers for your grade level.
Access Progress Book/Grade Book at least weekly to check grades.
Students can sign up for the CFMS Students & Staff Google Classroom using the code h7wa7o5.
We have several upcoming activities specifically for the middle school students and parents:
Schedule pick up for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will be August 17th and 18th from 9:00am-2:00pm.
During schedule pick-up, students and parents may pay fees, tour the building, put items in their lockers, pick-up their chromebooks, complete paperwork, and purchase locks for their locker.
Open house is August 24th.
Sixth Grade will have an orientation meeting at 5:00pm in the auditorium and then report to their Advisory Teacher’s Room for additional information.
Seventh Grade will have an orientation meeting at 6:00pm followed by visiting the classrooms.
Eighth Grade will start at 6:00pm with visiting classrooms then reporting to orientation at 6:30pm in the auditorium.
There is no chromebook pick-up available during the open house.
Field trips this year will include:
6th grade: FFA Camp Muskingum on October 12-14. The cost is approximately $180 per student and covers transportation, all meals, and camp registration. A deposit of $50 is due by September 2. The class will be doing a pie fundraiser to defray the cost for all students. The final cost of the trip will be calculated after the fundraiser.
7th grade: Spring trips: Ohio State Reformatory, Leader Richland, and Ohio Heartland. Information will be provided during the school year.
8th grade: There will be a field trip to visit the Knox County Career Center. An additional field trip is being planned and details will be available later.
Anyone needing assistance with the cost of any field trip should contact the office. Anyone willing to help financially support students attending these trips should also contact the middle school office.
This year we welcome back the following middle school office staff which includes Angie Peterson who is our secretary and Randy Pore who is the Assistant Principal. Please feel free to reach out to any of us with questions or concerns by calling the middle school office at 419-886-3111.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone very soon!

A Note from Food Services...
Hello Everyone,
School meals (both breakfast and lunch) will no longer be covered by the grant that we received last year. This means that students will have to pay for their meals.
Breakfast is $1.50
Lunch is $3.25 (MSHS)
Parents, please have a conversation with your student to not get in line if you don't want them eating. We don't want it to be a surprise for parents when they get the bill.
Free Reduced forms go out first 2 weeks of August and will be available at public libraries and post offices in Bellville and Butler.
Thanks,
Jennifer Stallard
