Organic Life Lunch & Breakfast
As you may already know, these meals are funded through a Federal program at no additional cost to the district or families. Students who are attending in-person at any K-8 school are given the option to opt-in to the program.
The food service selection form to opt-in or opt-out of the program has been updated and can be found at the link above.
Additional Information:
- Parents must complete this form by Monday, April 20, 2021.
- If you submitted the first food service selection form sent on March 19, and now want to change the option you selected, fill out this new form. If you filled out the previous form and you want to keep that selection, you do not need to fill out this new form.
- Lunch will be prepackaged meals, available for students to take as they go through socially distanced lines in the cafeteria.
- Specific meal offerings may differ from building to building, depending on each building’s kitchen facilities and cafeteria capacity.
- Breakfast will be “grab and go” style, with students taking prepackaged meals home at the end of each day to be consumed the following morning.
- All meals will conform to USDA nutritional guidelines as required by the Seamless Summer Program.
- Lunch and Breakfast menus can be found at the link below.
Recess Equipment Update
We thank you for your patience and support as we navigate our new model of recess.
Car Rider Drop-off & Pick-Up Procedures
A few expectations to keep in mind:
- Please pull ALL the way up to the LOADING ZONE in the carline to drop off ALL students to help with efficiency.
- Please stay in your car at all times.

- Our front circle is designated ONLY for special transportation.

As a reminder, the Morris family won the first spot during pick-up time. There will be a sign present designating this spot. Congrats Morris family!

COVID-19 PCR Testing Information
We are excited to welcome students back full-time over the next two weeks! As shared at the Board meeting last night, we are offering weekly COVID-19 PRC testing. We highly encourage all families to opt into this opportunity as the goal is to further reduce, prevent the spread and increase school community safety.
Testing is voluntary and will require consent to participate. If a child were to test positive, the District will consult with the Lake County Health Department and refer to the IDPH Interim Exclusion Guidance.
For information on the screening please refer to the below documents.
- FAQ
- Consent Form
- IMPORTANT: when using a cell phone device Turn OFF the Mobile-Friendly button and click OK (to see the complete text)
- IMPORTANT: When signing type your initials and draw your signature in the text box
If you wish to have your child(ren) participate in the COVID-19 screening, a consent form will need to be completed for each child. The consent will remain open for the remainder of the school year and must be completed by Sunday to participate in the following week.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Holly Colin if you have further questions.

Maybe you could add to the newsletter that Angel Fund assistance is available to any Sherwood families who could use the additional support in purchasing school supplies for next year. Please talk to Principal Filippi to find out how the Angel Fund could help you to purchase your student's school supplies. Link to ORDER School Supplies.
Next week Wednesday, April 21, we will be recognizing our amazing Grace Guadiana on Administrative Professionals Day. We can't imagine how Sherwood could run without her!
