Alex Eyler Named Parkway College Showcase Player Of The Game

Congratulations to Alex Eyler on being named the Parkway College Showcase Player of the Game in the Lady Vikings 7-0 win over Lockport, Illinois. The Lady Vikings are off to a 2-0 start in the young season. You can catch them in action on Tuesday at home at 6pm as they take on Troy.

Signing Day Ceremony Set For April 11th

Over the course of the past four years the Francis Howell High School Activities Department has celebrated over 200 students that will further their education and activity/sport at the collegiate level. On April 11th, the Class of 2018 will be recognized at the annual Signing Day Ceremony. Currently over 40 student-participants in the Class of 2018 will be furthering their education and activity/sport at the collegiate level. All Viking students, families and friends are encourage to attend this ceremony on April 11th. Information regarding the Signing Day Ceremony can be found below. All students that plan on participating should stop by the Activities Office or email Activities Director Sean Erwin at sean.erwin@fhsdschools.org to ensure that you are represented on the list and all information is correct.



Date: April 11, 2018

Breakfast: - Breakfast will be served from 6:30 -6:45 a.m. in the main gym. Breakfast is available for the student-athlete, family members in picture, our coaches, and media.

Presentation - At 6:45 a.m. students will line up with family members that you would like in your signing picture inside the main gym. Families will then have their signing pictures taken in front of our media wall. Immediately following all signing pictures we will take one large group photo of all student-participants.

Attire - Please dress appropriately for an official signing picture that will be tweeted out and included on our “signing wall” outside the Activities Office. We have reminded all student-athletes that we are not only representing Francis Howell and our programs but also the community and their future universities as well.

Picture – We will have a photographer that will take a picture of each participant and their family. The picture will then be emailed to all parents at no charge.

Gift: To commemorate this annual tradition each student-athlete will receive an official Howell Signing Day t-shirt.

Boys Tennis Starts Season With Win Over FHN

The boys tennis team kicked off their season with a 5-4 win over FHN this past week. The boys tennis program will try to defend the GAC South Championship from a season ago. Good luck to Coach Carlson and the boys tennis program this season.

Zack Hunsicker Named Pre-Season All-American

Congratulations to Zack Hunsicker on being named to the Perfect Game USA Pre-Season All-American baseball team. Zach is in his senior season for the Vikings and has signed to further his education and baseball career at the University of Central Florida.


Eva Voss Selected For DCI Oregon Crusaders

Congrats to Eva Voss on being selected to be part of the Drum Corps International (DCI) Oregon Crusaders in Portland, Oregon! Eva will be joining their Guard this summer!

This past week Mr. Berendzen and Howell students hosted the 2nd Annual Human Impact Film Festival. The film festival was attended by many students, staff and parents. Thank you to Mr. Berendzen for putting on this great new opportunity for Howell and our community.

The summer, fall, winter, and spring dead periods for the 2018-19 school year have been released. The MSHSAA dates can be found below. We hope that this information helps all Vikings and their families coordinate and prepare for the summer and sports seasons ahead during the 18-19 school year.

Howell Alums Hit First Collegiate Home Runs

Congratulations to Howell alums Megan Tersteeg (Drury University) and Darby Joerling (Missouri State University) on hitting their first collegiate home runs last week. Both Megan and Darby were standout students and softball players for Howell.

FHSD has the next to lowest tax rate of our comparison districts. The rates below reflect the operating and the debt service levy. For FHSD, the operating levy is $4.1814 and the debt service levy is $0.6713, for a total levy of $4.8527.
