Hansen Weekly Update
October 7, 2022
Hi Hansen Students, Parents, and Families!
We have had another busy and exciting week here at the Hansen, and want to wish all of our students and families a restful and enjoyable long-weekend ahead! Our students continue to show up each day with awesome energy and are excited to engage and work hard in their classrooms...keep it up!
On a different note, and in one last attempt through our weekly update, I am again sharing that we are looking for one more school aide to support students during lunch and recess times. If you, or anyone you know, is looking for part-time work during school hours (between 2-3 hours per day), please do consider this opportunity! If you are interested, please email me at brauningerd@cantonma.org.
Please enjoy some of this week's highlights below...
Creating a Culture of Equity, Achievement, Inspiration, and Joy!
School Based Equity Team - Looking for Volunteers!
The Canton Public Schools values and is committed to Educational Equity, naming this as a Strategic Area of Focus within our Strategic Framework. In concert with the district and other Canton schools, the Hansen School is continuing the work of our School Equity Team, initially launched last year, and we are looking for parent/guardian and staff volunteers!
This group will lead the work of Educational Equity at the Hansen to support access, high performance, and positive outcomes and experiences for all members of our community.
We are looking for volunteers that are open to learning, reflecting, and that are committed to the Hansen being a truly equitable school. We anticipate meeting as a group after school 1-2 times per month from roughly 3:40 - 4:40.
If you are interested in participating as a member of the Hansen School Equity Team, please email me directly at brauningerd@cantonma.org. Thank you for your consideration!

CHS Boys Soccer Fundraiser
Please click here for information and registration for a great fundraiser that is being held through the CHS Boys Soccer program.
It is a 3v3 soccer tournament for kids in grades 2-8. All funds raised go to the CYSA George Thomas Scholarship Fund and the CHS Athletic Booster Club- Boys Soccer.
Cantonstock 2022!
Cantonstock is the annual music extravaganza that showcases hundreds of student musicians representing all performing ensembles in the Canton schools, and is the primary fundraiser for MusicCounts, the volunteer, non-profit group dedicated to supporting all music programs in all the Canton Public Schools!
The mission is to raise funds for music programming for all students! Visit our website at: www.MusicCountsinCanton.org
Here are several ways you can help:
Sponsor a Student for Cantonstock
T-shirt orders must be received by October 14th! Each student who receives $50 in sponsors will receive this year’s version of the popular Cantonstock T-Shirt! Shirts are 100% Cotton and the colors change each year so students enjoy collecting them as they progress through the schools! (Additional students in the same household only need to raise $15 each to qualify for a shirt too!)
This option gives you different donation levels to select from and isn't tied to a specific student or deadline. We'll be happy to recognize your contribution on our website, social media, and other channels too!
Be a Business or Organizational Sponsor
We’re so grateful to the businesses and organizations for their past support, and hope they continue again this year. We’d really love to add new business and organizational sponsors too! Please view our current and previous list of sponsors and be sure to support
them!
Visit our website to learn more about MusicCounts and all the great things we’ve funded the past few years. Contact Us to Donate an Item for Raffle and Silent Auction, become a volunteer and more!
