What's Happening?

If at any time you have questions or concerns, please contact your child's teacher, call the office or email me - lisa.muirbrook@nebo.edu

No School Wednesday, March 9. Teachers will be busy all day in classes learning more about literacy instruction.

Specialty classes do a lot of integration and have great learning opportunities for our students. Check out what they are doing this week.

PE this week: TK-5 Fitness Activity - Parachute Fitness. Lesson Focus: Parachute Activities. Game: Sharks and Life Guards or Indianapolis 500.

Music this week: K-3rd Review Tempo, play and sing "Draw me a Bucket of Water". 4-5th Ukulele "Best Day of My Life".

Computers this week: 1st-2nd and 3rd grade students will practice coding skills on Kodable and Code.org. 4th and 5th grade students will start a program called Banzai, which teaches kids how to budget and all about financial literacy.

Library this week: The younger grades will be testing their knowledge of nursery rhymes in a fun game of memory. They will also act out a story about a bear who doesn't think he wants company.....until he meets mouse. The older grades will be testing out their ability to spot a plot from a book with just a few clues. They will also listen to a story all about the moon and be reintroduced to the space section of our library.

Cold/Inclement Weather

It is that time of year where the weather turns. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather. With the colder mornings, teachers will have their classrooms open by 8:35 each morning.

Students will be expected to go outside at recess and lunch time unless the air quality is dangerous, the temperature is below 20 degrees or if it is raining or snowing heavily. If you wish for your child to stay indoors, please send a note with them and specify a reasonable time period for them to stay indoors. Being outdoors and having the opportunity to run and play is a much needed and healthy time of the school day.
