Three Weeks Down!
School started three weeks ago already on August 18th. It's hard to believe how fast the time is flying. Each day we strive to make Shell Creek a place "Where We All Learn to Succeed!"
This Week's News
The 6th graders completed a keyboard assessment to evaluate how well they remember the keys on the keyboard. If you don't know where the letters are on the keyboard, it's harder to type without "hen pecking." Additionally, the classes started their new typing program, Ultimate Typing. This program is designed to continue building the typing skills these students have begun thus far.
The 4th graders completed their first keyboard assessment to evaluate how well they remember the keys on the keyboard. They will complete this assessment again at the end of the first and second semesters. They also began their typing program, Type to Learn 4. As this program is a repeat from 3rd grade, it was great to see a number of students skip lessons based upon terrific pre-test scores.
The Kindergarteners were so excited to learn how to log in and off the computer this week. They also learned how to open a web browser (Safari) and how to quit it properly. These basic computer skills will be used on a daily basis throughout the school year, and they're off to a great start!
