fair use - (in US copyright law) the doctrine that brief excerpts of copyright material may, under certain circumstances, be quoted verbatim for purposes such as criticism, news reporting, teaching, and research, without the need for permission from or payment to the copyright holder
Copyright and fair use is saying that you cant copy anybody elses work and take credit for what somebody else did and not you. Or if somebody was to take your work and take credit for it, it would be against the laws. and you wouldnt like it either. If there is the (c) symbol at the bottom it means that you are not allowed to copy anything from that person at all..
