Big image

Congratulations to last week's Paws for PRIDE winners: Ben Busick, Catherine Eberle, Abby Magliaro, Jamie Woltjen, Jazmin Guzman-Gomez, Gianna Friedman, & Jackie Finlaw.

These students were chosen at random to be recognized and celebrated for demonstrating one of our five character traits - Pride, Respect, Individual Responsibility, Determination & Empathy. Thank you to all of the Titus families for your support of our Paws for PRIDE program.

Just Move It . . .

During the month of May, fifth and sixth grade classrooms will challenge each other to see how many minutes outside of school they can log of physical activity. The top 5th grade classroom and the top 6th grade classroom will win an opportunity to play a kickball game against each other at the end of the challenge.

Students will be able to download a weekly log - click here. Each student will write their extra afterschool physical activity minutes on the log sheet for each day. On Thursday, students should have their parent sign the log sheet as verification of the logged minutes. IF a log sheet is not signed by a parent, it is invalid. All log sheets need to be turned in on Friday morning to the Wellness Ambassador for their classroom.

Every Wednesday the Wellness Ambassadors will report the classrooms' progress on the afternoon announcements. On Monday June 1, 2015 the winning grade 5 and winning grade 6 classroom will be announced on morning announcements.

Volunteers Needed . . .

Titus is looking for some volunteers to help out around the school. You simply have to visit the links below, enter your e-mail address, and sign up. Simple!

SFD - A HUGE Success . . .

A BIG thank you to all the parent captains and volunteers for all of your time, dedication, and effort in making Science Fun Day a success. Thank you to all of those who also donated materials to our event. Many teachers and special guests stopped me in the hallway to say how fantastic the experiments were and how engaged each student was. It was evident that you captured everyone's attention, engaged each student, and everyone went home learning something new about science. All of you did a fantastic job, and it was all of you who truly made it a success!

Another BIG thank you to the Home & School Hospitality Committee, Mrs. Camacho, Mrs. Peacock, Mrs. Mills, and everyone who donated food to our staff and volunteer breakfast and lunch. It was very thoughtful and much appreciated! Thank you to Village Bagel for providing everyone with a delicious breakfast and to Warrington Pizza for lunch! Thank you to Mr. Riley for all of his help in setting up for Science Fun Day, too!

Once a box is filled, Shoebox Recycling will deliver the shoes to communities around the world. They will donate .50 per lb. to the iRun4Life program at our school. Thank you in advance for your donation!

iRun4Life Annual 3k . . .

The iRun4Life organization is sponsoring their 6th annual iRun4Life Kids Only 3k in Central Park in Doylestown on Sunday, May 17. This event is open to the public, and your child does not need to be an iRun4Life participant. Science Fun Day Recap . . .

Written by: Aaron Fromal

On Friday, May 1st Titus held its biannual Science Fun Day. It was a day filled with fun science experiments from radar and sonar, an egg drop contest, glitter germs, ice cream making to chemistry. The day was also filled with a presentation from the Franklin Institute and a Star Lab. The day was a huge success, but it wouldn't have been done without our volunteers and home and school, so thank you to all that helped. It was a great Science Fun Day!

\We are still in need of several volunteers each day, and especially for the family night hours. Interested in volunteering to help with this year's book fair? Please click here to sign up for a time or two. For complete information and to see your child's shopping times, please click here.
