CIS Weekly Updates
2023-2024: #13 November 20-24, 2023
Principal Message
We currently have collected 4,805 bear paws! We are less than two hundred away. We will meet our goal tomorrow and plan on having the Turkey Trot! Students will have the opportunity to run/walk for 15 minutes throughout the day. They will also get an Auntie Anne's pretzel from their food truck! A special thank you goes to our CIS PTO for providing the pretzel truck for staff, students, and volunteers! We have all 48 volunteers for Wednesday! I will email our volunteers tomorrow for additional details about the Turkey Trot.
There are two PTO-sponsored events linked below. Both are great family opportunities. The All Fired Up fundraiser event is a great way to add to your holiday traditions.
As we get closer to Thanksgiving, I wish our families a happy and safe holiday season! I hope you enjoy the additional time with friends and family. We continue to be thankful for the tremendous support from our families. CIS is lucky, and our community is remarkable.
Have a GRATEFUL week!
~Brandon Cobb, Principal

AN IMPORTANT NOTE FROM OUR COUNSELORS
We want our families to know that both of our school counselors will be on maternity leave in the upcoming months. Mrs. Rohrbach is expected to be out beginning in December and will return in the spring. Mrs. Bonenfant is expected to be out beginning in January and will return in the spring.
During their absences, our district’s prevention specialist, Beth Beal, will be available to our students. Mrs. Beal is a retired school counselor from our district. She can be reached at Bbeal@wadsworthschools.org or by calling Central Intermediate School. Renee Onderak, student teacher for Mrs. Bonenfant, will also be working with students at CIS during Mrs. Bonenfant's absence. Here email is Ronderak@wadsworthschools.org.

Veterans Day Celebration - Videos
THANK YOU to all of the veterans who were able to attend our celebration. We appreciate your service to our country and are appreciative of your sacrifices. Here are some links for those who were not able to attend.
CharacterStrong - Gratitude
We are looking forward to focusing on Gratitude this month! One way to think about Gratitude is “choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives.” Practicing Gratitude can increase our well-being and our happiness.
Gratitude is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Well. Throughout the school, students will be developing skills like emotion regulation, positive self-talk, and stress management.
