Bless Me Ultima: Found Poem
By: Christopher Acosta
Childhood Knowledge
There are so many things
I wanted answers to
But knowledge comes slowly.
As you grow into manhood
You must find your own truths
Yet becoming a man was learning to sin
And all men sin.
Weak, Powerless, Confused.
Having no knowledge of the impending doom.
A person who did good
Lost their life.
A person who had taken a life
Was free and unpunished.
Why did such things happen?
I tried to learn
And again the pain and sadness spread to my soul.
Everything I believed in seemed wrong.
